  • Ally Kovalchik

    Instructor

Growing up, Ally played many sports, but was won over by gymnastics.  Like gymnastics, Pilates stimulates a personal craving to challenge Ally while improving her self awareness.  She gains mind and body strength each time she practices, and is determined to help her clients find this in themselves.  She was trained through Nicole Briggs' Classical Pilates Certification Program, at Strong Body Pilates, with an emphasis on injury recovery. Ally is certified on all Pilates apparatus including Reformer, Cadillac, Wundachair, Arm Chair, Electric Chair, High Barrel, etc.! Form is something that she takes seriously in her classes so that everyone carries out the exercises safely and successfully. She likes to keep her classes fresh by mixing her Classical Pilates background with contemporary exercises. Ally creates a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in which she hopes all her students leave feeling accomplished, energized, and confidant!

    Certified Pilates Instructor

My passion for movement began with dance. I spent many years dancing with the California Academy of Performing Arts in Northern California, dancing yearly in the Nutcracker as well as the Oakland Ballet. Over the past decade, it has evolved into a love for running, TRX, ballet barre, and especially Pilates. While studying Psychology at SDSU (Go Aztecs!) I discovered Club Pilates and in just one class I was hooked. Pilates has allowed me to improve my performance level and grow my list of activities.

  • Joy Napolitano

Joy is a newer instructor but she is not new to Pilates. She has been practicing Pilates for over 20 years. As a dancer and Dance Major in College, Joy was introduced to Pilates as a must for dancers to recover from injury. After having her two children, ages 15 and 12, Joy used Pilates to get her abdominal muscles back in shape. After getting such great results she wanted to share this with other people. She decided that she wanted to be a Pilates instructor. However, life got in the way and other commitments took over. She continued to practice Pilates as she was busy raising her two kids as a full time mother. For the past ten years she focused her energy on being a dance fitness instructor. However, in the back of her mind, she was always thinking that she wanted to be a Pilates Instructor. This was her first passion. She finally found the time and commitment to go through the teacher training at Club Pilates. While going through her training she really now understands why her body feels so good while practicing Pilates. She is so excited to share her knowledge with the clients at Club Pilates. Not very many people can say that they work everyday at something they are truly passionate about.

I have always been active enjoying such things as skiing, swimming, cycling, running, hiking, tennis, just to name a few.  I have found over time that Pilates has enhanced my performance in my sports and activities of choice.  After having practiced Pilates for many years, in 2014 I decided to take my practice to another level.  I attended the Teacher Training program at Club Pilates Encinitas, and began teaching.  Through this experience I found that not only did my teaching skills improve, but I experienced much improvement in my personal practice as well.  Since that time I have continued to seek knowledge, experience and precision with the intention of achieving the balance of mind, body and spirit that Joseph Pilates was so passionate about.  In 2016 I completed the BASI Bridge program with Rael Isacowitz.  I have attended every PMA Conference since 2014 and I am currently preparing for the PMA Certification Exam.  I have had the pleasure of taking workshops with two students of Joseph Pilates: Mary Bowen and Lolita San Miguel.  I learned much from them and felt a new level of connection to the work of Mr. Pilates after working with them and hearing the stories they had to share.   In 2017 I became a Master Teacher Trainer for Club Pilates and will continue to enhance my Pilates education annually.  In addition to Pilates, I am trained in Somatic Experiencing™ (Intermediate L2), and I am a Certified Level 2 Fascial Stretch Therapist™.  All of these modalities combined allow me to work with the whole person as he or she shows up for Pilates on any given day, whether in a group or individual setting.   I love living in San Diego and when I am not teaching or practicing Pilates I love to walk my dog Sassy on the beach in Cardiff, spend time with friends, hike Torrey Pines, cycle the Coronado strand, or read a good book!

  • Kristi Salisbury

In 2011, I “retired” from a highly stressful position at a nonprofit legal agency due to a shoulder injury. My physical therapist recommended Pilates to help me through the rehabilitation process. Fortuitously, I found my new “home away from home” and passion only a few blocks from my real home. Encouraged by my progress, I developed a deep appreciation for the health and strength benefits afforded by Pilates. I wanted to share Pilates with others, so I became a Pilates instructor. And, because I enjoy “yelling”, I mean motivating others, I received my Spin certification. I have always been keen on health and fitness: tennis, gymnastics, the requisite Cheerleader from Texas... My advanced degrees are all in Public Health. I even owned a Nautilus Fitness Center before moving to Mexico City and later Puerto Vallarta where I was able to teach and motivate as an English professor. After sailing around the Pacific for 4 years (even returning with all 3 daughters who “loved” having their mother for a teacher), we landed in San Diego and have never left. Yes, I enjoy a healthy wanderlust for excitement which lends itself so well with my Club Pilates instruction. I find it exciting to help both women and men, new to exercise or just new to Pilates, discover the joy of learning to use, control, and appreciate their bodies and minds.

  • Megan Fazzio

Hello! I’m Megan Fazzio, a Certified Pilates Instructor and Teacher Trainer, and I’ve teaching with Club Pilates 6 amazing years. Every year (every day) that I teach, I learn from working with my awesome clients, and evolve in my practice and my understanding of the body. I am grateful and privileged to work for such an progressive company with dedicated, fun, hardworking clients! I am originally from Montana, but have lived all over the US. Just before moving to San Diego, my husband and I traveled by bicycle around Italy and France for 6 months, learning the languages, and working on organic farms. We’d planned to return to New York, where I worked as a luthier, restoring, repairing, and learning to make violin family instruments. While there, we decided that to totally change our careers and move to California! Best move ever… I found Pilates because my job as a luthier involved leaning over a bench, using my wrists in repetitive twisting motions, and my back and wrists were in constant pain. Pilates completely fixed those issues for me, and I’ve now virtually pain free (except for the always-sore abs :). It challenges me physically and mentally, plus its fun! I love teaching brand new clients and helping them discover their mind-body connection, as well as my my regulars (some of whom have been seeing me for 5+ years!!) that get crazy, sparkly, sweaty in my advanced classes. Look for me on the schedule, and I’ll look forward to seeing you!

  • Natalie Scott-Fell

Hi! I'm Natalie Scott-Fell, a Pilates instructor here at Club Pilates Del Mar! I was born and raised here in Del Mar, California and traveled to Arizona for college. I lived overseas in Australia for two years with my now husband before settling back in California. I discovered Pilates after college and developed a deep love for it immediately. Pilates has completely transformed my body and strength. I became certified in 2012 and began to share my passion with my clients here at Club Pilates soon after. I taught up until the week before I delivered my beautiful son and Pilates gave me the strength for an incredibly easy and quick recovery. My classes are upbeat, fun and challenging. I love to see my clients leave with a smile on their face knowing they challenged themselves, but had a great time in doing so. Look for me on the schedule and I hope to see you soon!

  • Natalie Watkins

Natalie is a second generation San Diego native who was introduced to mat Pilates fifteen years. She transitioned to reformer Pilates six years ago when she found one of the only two Club Pilates studios. Although one Pilates class meant an hour drive round trip, it was her favorite part of the day during the hectic college years. After graduating with a BA in Sociology from San Diego State she realized that her passion was in Pilates. Natalie went through the Club Pilates teacher training program four years ago and has been teaching at Del Mar for the past two years. When she is not teaching Pilates she is probably taking care of her rescue animals, gardening or watching a basketball game. You'll often times catch her representing her favorite San Antonio Spurs. Pilates has helped Natalie by relieving pain and tightness in her lower back caused by a severe anterior tilt. She specifically loves Pilates because of the way it teaches you to use your body in your every day life.

  • Sarah Eichler

    Pilates Instructor

Sarah has been a dancer since age 5, training in modern, ballet and more. She first began to cross-train in Pilates when she went deeper into her dance training while in high school. She continued her education at UC Santa Barbara, majoring in dance and gaining additional knowledge in kinesiology, anatomy, and physiology. Sarah’s extensive study of dance has instilled a great love for, and connection to, the body and movement. She moved to New York City in 2013 to pursue dance professionally, where she had the pleasure of dancing with many modern dance companies and performing all over the city. While there, she discovered machine Pilates. It was an immediate and passionate love! She was taken under the wings of the owners of Sal Anthony’s Movement Salon where she obtained her certification. Now back in San Diego pursuing her Masters of Education, she is so happy to be able to continue doing what she loves. Sarah’s class aims to motivate, excite, and engage while challenging strength, stability, and coordination; all without losing sight of the fundamentals of technique and body mechanics. She truly believes that the magic begins with connecting mind and breath to movement…everything else will follow with dedication and practice. The opportunity to teach, heal, encourage, and challenge moves her in all senses of the word! She is looking forward to moving with all of you!

  • Yael Goodman-Korda

Yael was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel until moving to San Diego with her family - her husband, three kids and dog. Yael fell in love with Pilates after giving birth to her third child. Pilates had a huge impact on her body’s strength and energy, and as a result she decided to change careers and become a Pilates teacher. In her previous training Yael served as a Drill Sergeant in the Israel Defense Forces and worked as a Tour Guide and Tour Guide Teacher in Israel for 17 years. Plates may have been a fresh start, but teaching has always been Yael’s passion. Yael loves to make you work hard and feel challenged - all with a smile and a bubbly attitude.
