    Meet Dr. Sidal

    Dr. Sidal obtained his Master of Business Administration degree from San Francisco State University. He, then, received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from one of the most prestigious dental schools in the country, University of California, San Francisco. Prior to his specialty training, Dr. Sidal participated in several Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Internship and Externship programs at University-affiliated hospitals in Iowa, Texas, Virginia and California. He later entered and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Medical Center and its affiliated hospital Jesse Brown Veteran Affairs Hospital in Chicago. Consequently, Dr. Sidal went on to bring his training to another level by attending one of the most prestigious medical schools in the Midwest, University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine. He continued to teach the residents in the same institution while going through his rigorous education in Medicine. Upon completing the medical school, his curiosity in learning and everlasting passion in the dentistry, medicine and surgery, brought him back home to University of California, San Francisco(UCSF) where he completed a prestigious Chief Resident appointment in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as a General Surgery Internship at the UCSF, Department of Surgery. He, then, embarked on completing two years of rigorous fellowship training at the San Diego Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. During his fellowship, he also served as an integral part of an elite reconstructive team of surgeons at the Sharp Memorial Hospital , partnering with Operation of Hope. Together, this team donated surgery for facial reconstruction of a young man from Africa – whole story is available on YouTube as “Sharp Experience Episode 13”. Dr. Sidal holds medical staff privileges at Scripps Memorial, Clinic (Green), Mercy; Sharp Memorial; Rady Children’s; and University of California, San Diego. He is a member of American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Oral and Facial Surgeons of California. Dr. Sidal maintains his certifications by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Dr. Sidal shares a holistic vision in patient care where his patients are evaluated as whole, and not blindly focused on parts. He is an avid advocate of healthy quality living, body and soul nourishment for supporting healthier and productive lives. Dr. Sidal lives in San Diego with his wife and two children. His interests are jogging, windsurfing, arts, and classical music.

  • Charles C. Phillips, III, DMD

    Meet Dr. Phillips

    Dr. Phillips received his Bachelors degree from New England College, his Masters degree from the University of New Hampshire and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University. He is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a career Naval officer and retired after serving on active duty for twenty years. He served as chairman of dental departments at sea and ashore. While assigned to Naval hospitals, he served as regional oral surgery and maxillofacial surgery consultant in both the US and Japan. He also served on the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency teaching staff at San Diegos Naval Hospital. He was the section chairman at Scripps Memorial Hospital for five years and is now on staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. Dr. Phillips has lectured extensively on dental implant surgery, maxillofacial trauma and TMJ therapy in both the U.S. and Japan. He received two Navy Meritorious Service Medals in recognition of his work in infection control. He is fully trained to perform office general anesthesia and is a certified Advanced Cardiac Support provider. He is also a certified California State Board office anesthesia evaluator. Dr. Phillips has lived in Carmel Valley since 1987 with his wife Diane, who is a national cooking instructor and author of numerous cookbooks. She is a member of the International Association of Cooking Professionals and a James Beard award nominee. They have two grown children and donate their time to church and Del Mar Kiwanis Club activities. Dr. Phillips enjoys traveling and sports of all forms. He is a avid motorcyclist and enjoys cruising around Southern California on his Harley.
