  • Guy B. Tarvin

    DVM

    Dr. Tarvin specializes in orthopedic surgery, arthroscopy and reconstructive joint surgery. He also has extensive experience in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. He founded Veterinary Surgical Specialists in 1981. Veterinary Surgical Specialists merged with Animal Internal Medicine on October 2009 to become Animal Specialty Group. Dr. Tarvin completed his internship and residency at the Animal Medical Center in New York and was an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine.

  • Peter G. Slusser

    DVM

    Dr. Slusser sees referrals in all aspects of internal medicine and oncology, including cases involving cardio-pulmonary disease, major organ dysfunction, infectious and hematological disease, gastroenterology and endocrine disorders. He opened Animal Internal Medicine in San Diego in 1989. Animal Internal Medicine merged with Veterinary Surgical Specialists in October 2009 to become Animal Specialty Group. Dr. Slusser completed his residency at and was an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine.

  • Michael R. Geist

    DVM

    Dr. Geist joined VCA Animal Specialty Group in September 2009. He has extensive training in all aspects of internal medicine. He has a special interest in nephrology, gastroenterology and non-invasive interventional techniques. Dr. Geist obtained his DVM degree from Ontario Veterinary College in Ontario, Canada. He completed his Internship at Veterinary Emergency Clinic, in Toronto, Canada and his Residency at the Animal Medical Center in New York.

  • Gregory Jackson

    DVM

    Dr. Jackson joined VCA Animal Specialty Group in August 2011. He has extensive training in all aspects of surgery. His special surgical interests include fracture repair, joint replacement and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Jackson completed his surgical internship and residency at the Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles. .
