• Johnny Hornibrook

  Executive Chef

  Chef Johnny Hornibrook comes from humble roots, having been raised by a single working mother in Stockton California, he often found himself in the kitchen helping to prepare family meals. Johnny began working in professional kitchens by the time he was old enough to earn a workers permit. After high school, he opened his own food cart and catering company with his older brother James, while finishing his undergraduate degree in business administration. As Johnny's career in culinary began to grow, so did his territory, advancing his talents to the neighboring San Francisco Bay Area as a private chef. The bold flavors and complex diversity of the new atmosphere inspired a broadened taste for finer foods and exotic ingredients. Future opportunities would later lead him to Japan and Central America, where he first began honing his skills and knowledge for authentic international cuisines. After gaining valuable experience, Johnny set his sights on sunny Southern California where he spent the next few years working in a variety of restaurant establishments from seaside cafés to international hotel chains. Overtime Johnny has been able to add to his arsenal of culinary talents and industry insight by having a genuine love and commitment to his craft, taking each moment to learn and become better at what he does. Johnny credits much of his success to the numerous chefs and entrepreneurs that have served as mentors along his journey. A philanthropist by nature, Chef Johnny enjoys being active in his local community when he's not in the kitchen, as well as traveling to culinary capitals around the world. In 2018, Johnny joined the Mystique Dining family as the Executive Chef of our flagship location in Folsom, CA. Recently he has been promoted to supervise all three of our California Venues. With each new venue, Johnny continues to oversee menu and staff development with a passion, ensuring the 5-star culinary excellence that's consistent throughout our brand.
